A language often has words that can only be translated into English (or another language) with a long sentence, an explanation, rather than a simple translation of a word or two.
There is a fun word like this in Siuslaw/Lower Umpqua: tsuutii (TSOO – tee) which is ‘the thin sheet of water that spreads all over the beach after a wave crash”. I’ve spent a few times at the beach watching the water move across the sand. And now I know a word for it! Tsuutii!
